Shaping light and matter at the nanoscale

​Our group at Queens College of the City University of New York uses state-of-the-art nanofabrication and characterization tools to manipulate matter at the nanoscale and build the next-generation of compact photonic devices that can shape optical beams in innovative ways. Such control leads us to a new interpretation of basic laws governing electromagnetic wave interactions and promises to find applications in several current scientific and technological challenges, such as energy efficiency, improved bio-sensing, and miniaturization of photonic devices.
